She's such a good helper. She likes handing Jesse things and then putting parts together (or so she thinks) herself. She is also saying "oh sheet" a lot... Perhaps she spends too much time helping daddy?

On Saturday mornings Penelope goes to the Little Gym. She learns simple gymnastics skills that help her with balance, strength and more. She loves it! It's great for her to interact with other kids and learn to follow directions, too. It's fun when Jesse and I can both take her, I also like it when he takes her so I can sleep in and get a little time alone. Today Jesse had to work so I took her by myself. It was difficult with this big belly! She loves hanging on the bars and walking on the balance beam. Today was the first time she has ever gone on the balance beam by herself and actually stood alone on it. And she did it without anyone asking her to, she just went for it. I was so proud!

It's a super windy and gloomy day today. It has been raining on and off, too so we are inside all day. Jesse was looking in our backyard and saw a road runner standing on the wall in our backyard! Then it actually started running! I have no idea what it was doing up there in all that wind. Meep meep!

First Project in Our New House

Our kitchen had 2 fluorescent light fixtures that were very bright, sterile and noisy. They buzzed like crazy when they were on. Jesse and I have talked about replacing them with recessed can lights at some point but we figured it probably wouldn't happen for a while. Yesterday when he got come from work he started taking the existing lights apart to see how hard it would be to replace them. Next thing I know, we're on the way to the hardware store to get everything we needed to start the project. When we got home Jesse went straight to work measuring and cutting and wiring and... whatever else it involved. He almost completely finished. Tomorrow he will patch two holes, paint where it's needed and pt the trim on the lights. He really did a fabulous job and I am so proud of him for doing it, especially since he did it on a whim and has never done it before. It's not completely finished, but the change in lighting makes such a huge difference! It's so much more homey and cozy now. Can't wait for it to be done!  

So this is kinda before, after he started taking the original lights down. The covers were these huge, white rounded over things, not cute.

And here's how it is so far. Looks so much better already, right? Almost done!

OH! It looks crooked because the original fixtures were crooked. The new lights were measured about a dozen time, they are where they need to be! 


Next we are going to decorate the kids' rooms, landscape the backyard and make a cool light fixture for above the kitchen table. Come oooooooooon, tax refund!

We took this picture last night, I just forgot to post it. She loves PBK, so much playing can be done! She really really loved that horse and it was on sale just not cheap enough. I wish we could get it for her.

Poor girl was miserable last night because of a stuffy nose and was warm when she woke up this morning. Today has pretty much consisted of constant nose wiping. I can't remember for the life of me the last time she had a bath, she only takes showers anymore, but I thought it would make her feel better. She seemed to enjoy it! At first she didn't even know what she was supposed to do, it took a lot of convincing on my part to get her to sit down. Maybe she should take baths more often so she doesn't forget how it works ever again!
